India’s Ziona Chana, a 66-year-old man, reportedly has the world’s largest family with 167 members that include his 39 wives, 94 children and 33 grandchildren.

Ziona was 17-years-old when he met his oldest wife. He revealed that he once “married 10 women in one year.” His wives are living a one dormitory beside Ziona‘s private bedroom. It was reported that Ziona would like to have seven or eight of his wives to be beside him all the time.

According to international news sites, Ziona lives with all the members of his family in a four-story building with 100 rooms in Mizoram state in Baktwang village located between the borders of Myanmar and Bangladesh. All of Ziona‘s sons and their wives, and all their children, live in separate rooms of the building and share one kitchen. The wives took turns in cooking for everyone and the housekeeping is taken cared of by their daughters. The husbands do the outdoor jobs that include farming and handling live stocks.

The whole family eat around 91 kg (200 lbs) of rice and over 59 kg (130 lbs) of potatoes a daily. They support themselves with their own resources and from donations from other people.

Ziona said that he is “ready to expand my family and willing to go to any extent to marry.” Having “so many people to care (for) and look after,” Ziona considers himself “a lucky man.” He is the leader of “Chana,” a local Christian religious sect which allows polygamy. “Chana” was organized in June 1942.
