Yingluck Shinawatra, Elected as First Female Prime Minister of Thailand, and the World’s Youngest Prime Minister

Yingluck Shinawatra, 44, was elected by Thailand’s parliament as Prime MinisterShinawatra is the first female Prime Minister of Thailand and the world’s youngest Prime Minister. This was disclosed by news in international politics, Friday, August 5.

According to reports, Shinawatra won 296   votes out of the 500 members. There were 3 members who did not vote for her, while 197 abstained and 4 were absent. Apparently, she lacks experience, but what she lacks in experience, supporters  said she can overcome with her wit and charm.

She had graduated with a Master’s Degree in public administration from the Kentucky State University in the US and had her bachelor’s degree in the same field from Chiang Mai University.

Yingluck Shinawatra stated reportedly, that she will be prioritizing livelihood programs and national reconciliation.

Shinawatra; however, has yet to be appointed by the King of Thailand, King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
