Xian Lim Refuses to Promote Albay, Governor Joey Salceda SaysBy Angel Cuala on Feb 20, 2015 in Entertainment, Local •
“I’m not here to promote Albay.” This is what Xian Lim, according to a Facebook post by Albay Governor Joey Salceda. The Star Magic talent was a guest during the recent Fiesta Tsinoy Albay. When Bicolanos learned about this issue, many of them requested that Lim be declared “persona non grata.”
Albay Governor Joey Salceda wrote on his official Facebook page this Thursday.
“Xian Lim says in my face (Atty Carol) while handing the coffee table book in front of many – ‘I’m not here to promote albay.’ If his road manager checks his record, Albay paid for his many guestings since way back 2011 when his talent fee was just P75,000 (Ginoo ni Magayon) and now P350,000 for Fiesta Tsinoy Albay. “It’s either 1. His parents did not raise him well. 2. He had bad education. 3. He is not managed well. 4. His character is inversely proportional to his looks. 5. He is on something.”
Xian Lim quickly responded on this issue via his official Twitter account. The 25-year old actor apologized, but denied that he doesn’t want to promote Albay. He said that that he was misquoted and that what he doesn’t want is to wear the “I Love Albay” t-shirt.
“I just read an online article about an incident which is deeply upsetting because it doesn’t tell the right story. In the article I was quoted as saying ‘I am not here to promote Albay’, something I never said or would ever say,” Xian Lim (@XianLimm) tweeted.
“Earlier, the author of the online article handed me a coffee table book of Albay and a tshirt to wear.. My exact words to her were “sorry po, hindi ko maisuot yung tshirt kasi baka magka conflict sa clothing endoresement ko. Pasensya na po,” Lim added, noted that his parents raised him to be respectful.
But this Friday, Albay Governor Salceda posted again on Facebook and denied that he was asked to wear the t-shirt, but instead was only given to him. The Albay governor also said that he is not accepting Lim’s apology and reminded him about what happened to Ramon Bautista when Davao City declared him as “persona non grata” in 2014 for his “hipon” comments to the women of Davao.
