Worst Olympic dive: German diver Stephan Feck diving flat on his back goes viral (Video)

The so-called “worst Olympic dive” was reportedly made by German diver Stephan Feck, who had a failed dive at the Aquatics Centre in London on Monday, August 6, 2012, as shown in the video below, and is now going viral.

According to the official website of the London 2012 Olympics that day, Stephan Feck landed on the 29th place and the last spot in the 3m springboard event preliminaries with a total score of 133.80 for his three dives, which made him 167.65 points behind the second-to-last diver Edickson Contreras Bracho of Venezuela.

As noted in the report, Russia‘s Ilya Zakharov led the scores for that event, with a total score of 507.65, and was followed by He Chong of China (500.90) and Troy Dumais of USA (486.60). Zakharov eventually won the gold medal after the finals, while Qin Kai of China won the silver medal and He Chong for bronze.

However, the audience reportedly became more interested in Feck, who landed on his back on his on his second dive. He received a score of zero for that dive and later dropped out of the competition after the 3rd round, with Blick.ch, a German news site, reported that he said he “feels sick” but was not seriously injured.
