As featured at GuinnessWorldRecords.com on Thursday, September 13, 2012, Zeus is from Otsego, Michigan, which measures 111.8 centimeters (44 inches) from foot to withers, or 3.66 feet tall; and stretches to 7 ft 4 inches standing on hind legs. He is also the world’s tallest dog ever recorded in history.
According to the report, Zeus weighs 70.3 kg (155 pounds or 11 stone) and eats around 12 cups of food a day, which is notably equivalent to one whole 30-lb bag of food. He broke the earlier record of the world’s tallest dog, a pooch named Giant George, who is 1-inch shorter.
“Zeus is an awesome dog. The only downside is that everything costs more; the food, medicines, transport. We had to get a van to be able to transport him, oh, and if he steps on your foot – he leaves bruises!” Zeus owner Denise Doorlag was quoted in the report, with the dog’s size being the same as an average donkey.
Meanwhile, the Guinness World Records 2013 edition, which has around 3,000 new entries, also feature other amazing record holders, such as Oklahoma Sam, the world’s living donkey; Darlene Flynn, owner of the world’s largest shoe-related items; and Archie from Northern Ireland, the world’s smallest bull.
