The world population growth is seen to reach 7 billion this year 2011 as reported by various news sites, July 28 & 29, 2011. The Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the UN, predicted that world population will reach 10 billion in 2100.

Reportedly, researchers found out that the population growth will mostly affect developing countries and the youth. India is predicted to overtake China as the most populated country, as well.

Further reports released by the United Nations (UN) stated that a significant increase in the world population to 10 billion in year 2100 would most likely affect the different aspects of human survival, like supply of food and water, among others.

The figures are high but experts, like Harvard Professor David Bloom, said that the problem is  “not insurmountable”  and that people should take action and not “stick their heads in the sand.”
