World Figure Skating Championships: Patrick Chan Remained Men’s Champion, Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy Won the Pairs

Patrick Chan from Canada remains the Men’s World Figure Skating Champion, while Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy won the gold in the pairs for the 4th time. According to sports news, March 30, 2012, Chan retained his title although there was a moment he wobbled on his feet.

Chan, who was the defending champion, had enough points though to defeat Michal Brezina from Czechoslovakia who had 87.67 against Chan’s 89.41. Third was Daisuke Takahashi from Japan with 85.72, reportedly.

Further reports revealed that Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy from Germany defeated their Russian counterpart by earning 201.49 points against Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov of Russia, who had 201.38 for the silver.

Narumi Takahashi and Mervin Tran of Japan had 189.69 to take home the bronze in the World Figure Skating Championships 2012.
