World’s first Mango phone, Windows 7.5 smartphone by Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T unveiled (Video)

The world’s first “Mango” phone or Windows 7.5 smartphone which Fujitsu and Toshiba called as IS12T was unveiled on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, as shown in the video below.

As noted at technical news sites, Microsoft Japan president Yasuyuki Higuchi unveiled the first Mango smartphone that day in a press conference in Tokyo, Japan.

The news was confirmed in a post at Windows Team official blog, and revealed that the Windows Phone development team has officially signed off for the manufacturing of the first Windows 7 Mango Phone.

According to reports, the Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T is the first smartphone based on the new “Mango” edition of Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform, which will go on sale in Japan “this coming September or thereafter”.

For the specs, the Windows Phone 7.5 handset has a 3.7″ LCD, 13.2 Megapixel camera, with 32GB of internal memory and uses a 1 Ghz Qualcomm MSM8655 CPU.

This first mango phone is waterproof and will come in various colors including yellowish/greenish hue, jet black and pink; with connectivity options of Bluetooth (2.1 + EDR) and WiFi (802.11b/g/n).

Among the features of this IS12T Windows Phone include Twitter and Facebook check-ins; where text, Facebook Chat and Windows Live Messenger are all pulled into one conversation window.
