An Idaho woman with a history of sleepwalking was found alive after apparently “sleep swimming” in the Snake River, international news sites reported on Wednesday, August 22, 2012.
According to reports, the 31-year-old unidentified woman was treated for hypothermia after she was found safe after her husband reported her missing on Tuesday morning. The woman allegedly walked out of their house in her pajamas, barefoot.
Mini-Cassia Search and Rescue helped in searching for the woman, together with some neighbors and members of the couple’s church. The woman was found wet and hypothermic about a quarter mile downstream from her house on the Cassia County riverbank. She was brought to the Cassia Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
Reports said that this is the woman’s third sleep-walking incident in the past five weeks.
