Woman, 104, lies about age due to Facebook maximum age of 99By Alex Jusi Madlangbayan on Feb 21, 2013 in Internet, Technology, United States, Weird •
A 104-year-old woman lies about her age on Facebook due to the social networking site’s limitation. As of posting, Facebook‘s age field can only accept up to 99.
Marguerite Joseph, from Grosse Pointe, Michigan, revealed that she cannot published her actual age because it exceeds the maximum age that Facebook can handle.
Due to Facebook‘s limitation, Mrs. Joseph‘s registered birthday on the social networking site is April 19, 1928 instead of April 19, 1908.
Reports say that Mrs. Joseph is an active user of Facebook for several years now and as of posting, has 198 friends online. She uses the site to keep in touch with relatives in the US and Canada.
She is being assisted by her granddaughter, Marlow, in reading and replying to messages since she is legally blind and suffering from poor hearing.
According to Marlow, when she tried to enter 1908 as her grandmother’s birth year as 1908, Facebook provides an error message, ‘unknown error.’
Some of Mrs Joseph‘s “Likes” on Facebook include The Ellen DeGeneres Show, I Love Lucy, Detroit Redwings and Detroit Tigers.
Facebook age glitch
Reports say that the 104-year-old grandmother attends church weekly and even spend some time in the casino.
Marlow revealed that she reported the age glitch by sending a message to Facebook owner, Mark Zuckerberg.
