Wolves In Drummond, Smart Creek To Be Taken Off From Endangered Species List

Collared gray wolf of the Smart Creek trio pack usually found in the Northern Rockies of Drummond, Montana were among the wolves that will be removed from the list of endangered species, according to reports by several international news sites.

According to Federal wildlife officials,  over 1,300 gray wolves will taken off the list in less than 60 days.

US President Barack Obama signed into law on Friday, April 15, 2011 an attachment to the budget bill that removes the protection of wolves in several states that include Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.

This is the first time that the US Congress has taken off a species from the endangered list.
