This fight is indeed special to all Filipino people particularly to all mothers, most significantly to his mom.  Based on previous records, Manny Pacquiao particularly dedicated this fight to his mother, Mommy Dionisia in celebration of Mother’s Day.

One report coined Manny Pacquiao as “Mama’s Boy” for being very supportive of his mother.  Furthermore, we all know based on records on how she singlehandedly raised him and his siblings through modest income from a small convenience store in General Santos City.

Same report concluded that Manny Pacquiao got his strong faith, perseverance, generosity and kindness from his mother.

Manny openly shed tears on TV as he wished Mommy Dionisia a happy Mother’s Day.  He lovingly expressed his great love for the woman who he said has sacrificed all her life for the sake of her children.

“Mommy, sorry if we haven’t talked often nowadays and if I have not hugged you for a long time,” Pacquiao told Mommy Dionisia during that TV interview.

“But I understand that because he has to be far from home (for his fights),” she said in Cebuano.

“He is the same sweet and thoughtful son,” she told reporters.

Mommy Dionisia, the mother of the boxer, is turning 62 next Sunday.  Based on reports,  she still wishes Manny more success in the boxing world. Though she worry much, she’ll support things that matter to her son.  That’s Mommy Dionisia, truly one supportive mother.
