Windows Phones 7 now available in US and Canada stores

Windows Phones 7 are now available in US and Canada stores, according to international websites.

In the US, three phones that runs with the latest operating system of Microsoft, Windows 7 went to sale on Monday.

This includes the HTC HD7, the HTC Surround and the Samsung Focus.

The HDC7 is available for T-Mobile customers, while the Surround and Focus are available for AT&T subscribers, which were said to be competing with the existing Apple iPhone and Google Android.

These Windows Phones 7 were officially launched by no less than Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer, during a press conference last October, and said that these smartphones will be available on November 8.

All the AT&T phones were earlier reported to be valued at $199 each, but some online retails like Amazon are offering them for $150 but with a new contract.

Meanwhile, the HTC HD7, which is for T-Mobile customers, has the same selling price but with a two-year contract.

According to Microsoft on their website, these Windows Phones 7 has live tiles, which will allow users to monitor instantly on what is currently happening, whether they are new Facebook messages, photos or other content that users want to keep up to date with.

Meanwhile, Vancouver Sun also also announced on its website, the sale of Windows Phones 7 in Canada on the same day.

According to them, these Windows Phones 7 were also available starting Monday, and the list of prices are noted below.

For Bell, LG Optimus Quantum will sell for $99.95 with three year contract minimum $50 voice/data plan, but it will be $449.95 with no contract.

For Rogers, Samsung Focus will sell at $199.95 with a three-year voice and data plan.

For TELUS, HTC 7 Surround will cost $99 on three-year plan, while LG Optimus 7 will value at $99 on three-year plan.
