Westminster Dog Show 2012: Pekingese “Palacegarden Malachy” wins Best of Toys, its second straight win

A Pekingese dog named Palacegarden Malachy won the Best of Toys grand prize on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the 2012 Westminster Kennel Club dog show (2012 WKC Dog Show), its second straight win.

As noted at TheBestinShowDaily.com that day, Palacegarden Malachy, which is being handled by David Fitzpatrick, won the Best of Toys first prize award, currently being held at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

“There were many dogs that I didn’t have a ribbon for this evening that I’ve done for in the past, and would certainly do for again in the future,” Show judge Dennis McCoy was quoted in the report, where 23 dog breeds competed in that group.

According to the report, the winning Pekingese dog is owned by New Yorker Iris Love, Sandra Middlebrooks and David Fitzpatrick, and will be competing in the Best in Show competition late Tuesday.

Malachy, 4-years old, whose pink tongue is peeking out from his black face, also won the Top Toy award at the 2011 Progressive Toy Dog Club, and has 114 Best in Show ribbons under his name and aiming for the another one this year.

Meanwhile, Martha Stewart’s Chow Chow named “Genghis Khan” won the Best of Breed prize also on Monday at the 136th Annual Westminster Kennel Club dog show, where six new breed of dogs are also included.
