Martha Stewart‘s Chow Chow named “Genghis Khan” (GK) won Best of Breed at the 2012 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show (WKC) on Monday, February 13, 2012, currently being held in New York.

Stewart, 70, an American business magnate also known for being a home living guru, announced via Twitter that her Chow Chow won Best of Breed, and included a photo as shown here.

Ghenghis Khan did it! Best of Breed at Westminster!!!!Big Deal” Martha Stewart (@MarthaStewart) tweeted on Sunday, followed by another tweet, attaching a photo of GK, the dog handler and its breeder.

Martha Stewart‘s dog, categorized as Non-Sporting dog, will now compete with other dog breeds in the Best in Group show on Monday night, as part of the 136th Annual Westminster Kennel Club dog show.

Incidentally, Stewart‘s “Genghis Khan” is the son of the last year’s winner of Best of Breed, another Chow Chow owned by dog breeder Karen Tracy, after she lost her previous Chow ChowGenghis Khan” in 2009 in a fire incident at Pennsylvania kennel.

As announced earlier, all Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding breeds and varieties will be judged that day and Best in Show prize will be awarded on Tuesday night, wherein six new dog breeds were approved to join.
