The James Bond ‘Skyfall’ movie is now reportedly the biggest weekend box office opening for any James Bond 007 movie, after it has now made over $518 million worldwide, three days after it was released in the US and two weeks after making its debut in the UK, on Thursday, October 26, 2012.

As noted at The Hollywood Reporter on Sunday, November 11, the Skyfall movie, being the 23rd James Bond movie, has now an estimated earnings of $518.6M worldwide, after making $90 million on its weekend opening in the U.S. and Canada, released last Friday, November 9.
According to the report, this third Daniel Craig starrer Bond movie earned another $89.0 million this weekend overseas bringing a total of $428.6 million internationally, with the US weekend earnings include the $2.2 million earned in IMAX and other large-format theaters exclusively last Thursday.
“It’s been a wild, fantastic ride. The holds have been extraordinary and people will want to see this film again and again.” Rory Bruer, president of worldwide distribution for Sony Pictures, was quoted in the report, with Skyfall beating Quantum of Solace, the earlier best James Bond opening earner that made $67.5 million.
Skyfall movie, directed by Sam Mendes and also features Judi Dench reprising her role as M, is also being expected to surpass the $586.1 million worldwide box office earnings of Quantum of Solace in 2008 and the $596.4 million for Casino Royale in 2006, which also made $40.8 million in their opening weekend.
Meanwhile, Disney Animation Studios‘ ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ remains a huge box office hit in the US, two weeks after it was released, after it made $33.1 during the weekend, and landed as second on the weekend box office report. This 3D animated movie also made an additional $11.2 million internationally for $120 million earnings worldwide.
Among the other Hollywood movies that landed in the Top 5 movies in the recent weekend box office are: Paramount Pictures‘ ‘Flight’ starring Denzel Washington; Warner Bros‘ ‘Argo’ starring and directed by Ben Affleck; 20th Century Fox‘ ‘Taken 2’ starring Liam Neeson, which is now on its 6th week.
