Walmart To Go: Wal-Mart online grocery delivery service being tested in California

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is now testing an online grocery delivery service in California, which started on Saturday, April 23, 2011.

As told by a spokesman of the top US retail store to news reports on Saturday, a Walmart online grocery delivery service called ‘Walmart To Go’ is now being tested in San Jose, California.

Apparently, this ‘Walmart To Go’ test features allows customer to order groceries and consumables through its official website which will be delivered right to their homes.

As noted in the company website, some of the products included in the online grocery test are fresh produce and frozen meat and seafood, bakery, baby needs, household supplies, over-the-counter pharmacy, and health and beauty items.

As announced on the ‘Walmart To Go’ Help page, payment at this time should be made only through a credit card and the minimum order total can be seen at the shopping cart.

Meanwhile, Walmart stressed out that sale of alcohol will strictly be based on the California Alcoholic Beverage Control Act.

In addition, only persons above 18 years old will be allowed to receive the delivery, except for alcohol in which only 21 years old or older are allowed to be a recipient. Tips cannot be accepted.
