VOS Sports Recall 2010: Children’s Hooded Jackets and Sweatshirts with Drawstrings due to Strangulation Hazard

USA, Washington D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a voluntary recall made by VOS Sports Inc. for their hooded jackets and sweatshirts with drawstrings, which can cause strangulation to users, particularly children.

According to their post on their official website dated November 19, 2010, Release # 11-046, the affected quantity for this VOS Sports Recall 2010 is about 11,700, and without any reported accidents as of this writing.

However, the company, which is based in California, said that these products may cause strangulation or entrapment to children due to its drawstring included, in which a photo of the one of the products can be seen here.

VOS Sports said that the affected products were manufactured at China and Vietnam, and were sold at different sweatshirts and jacket outlet stores across the US, from January 2005 through February 2010 and cost ranging from $17 to $34.

For easier identification, these hooded sweatshirts and nylon hooded jackets with drawstring for children were sold in various sizes including S-M or L and in up to 14 colors, with the brand name “VOS Sports” and “RN#94353” printed on the sewn-in label.

Consumers are then being advised to immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts and jackets for the safety of their children, and contact VOS Sports Inc.

According to the company, customers can get return the product to their office and get a full refund.
