Virginia F-18 crash: US Navy Jet crashes into Virginia building (Video)

A US Navy F-18 fighter jet reportedly crashed into a Virginia building and set it in flames on Friday, April 6, 2012. The Virginia F-18 crash in Virginia Beach, Virginia damaged at least five buildings, according to reports by several international news sites.

Reports say that the two F-18 crews were able to eject from the jet. Rescuers found one of the crew members still strapped on his ejection seat.

Witnesses said that there were “just large fireballs coming up” from the crash.

The F-18‘s tail section was found in the courtyard of a two-story building.

According to reports, the F-18 fighter plane was based at the Naval Air Station Oceana for Navy and Marine aviators in Virginia Beach.

As of posting, investigation on the cause of the Virginia F-18 crash is ongoing. Initial reports say that at least six people were injured.
