Vermont Tour Bus Crash with University of Massachusetts students (photo and video)

A bus carrying college students of University of Massachusetts-Amherst to Quebec City in Canada crashed along Vermont Highway on Friday, December 3, 2010, according to international reports. About 30 passengers of the bus was reportedly injured during the incident. Three persons were said to be not in good condition according to state police spokeswoman Stephanie Dasaro.

Some of the passengers were treated on site by emergency workers, while others were brought to Springfield Hospital and Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

The bus incident on Interstate 91 in the vicinity of Brattleboro in southern Vermont caused the closure of the southbound lane of the highway.

The bus was one of three vehicles who are going for a ski trip, according to Tour World Inc. spokeswoman Liz Brown. The other two buses continued their trip to Quebec City.

According the reports, university spokesman Ed Blaguszewski issued the following statement:

At this point, we are gathering information about this event. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those people who were injured in the crash.
