According to a press release by Verizon Wireless, the new Motorola Droid RAZR smartphone measures only 7.1 mm thin, and dubbed as the world’s thinnest 4G LTE smartphone.

Droid RAZR by Motorola combines style, performance and the power of Verizon Wireless4G LTE network into one innovative device,” Verizon Wireless VP and chief marketing officer Marni Walden was quoted on the report.

“These are two iconic brands that separately symbolize the best technology available today. The combination will provide an unsurpassed wireless experience for customers.” Walden added.

Among the key features of the new Motorola Droid RAZR include having a 1GB RAM, 16GB of storage, 12.5 hours of talk time almost 9 hours of video playback, and 8-megapixel camera with 1080p recording.

The ‘world’s thinnest smartphone‘ also has a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display strengthened with Gorilla Glass, a 1.2GHz processor, and the body was covered by Kevlar that makes it light weight.

As noted by Gizmodo, all parts of Droid RAZR including the electronics parts have been coated in a water-resistant material, which will help protect the smartphone against spills and the elements.

Verizon emphasized that it is also the first smartphone capable of streaming movies and TV shows through Netflix with up to HD resolution, which will run at Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread.

Motorola said that Droid RAZR will be released this coming November for $299.99 with a two-year contract with Verizon, with the exact date not revealed. Preorders will be available at the Droid website on Thursday, October 27.
