USA wins versus Angola in 2010 FIBA World Championship

Chauncy Billups had the hot hand early in the game and shoots the lights out in Istanbul, Turkey as the USA team romped over Angola, 121-66. The Americans now advanced to the next round of the 2010 FIBA World Championship and will face either Russia or New Zealand. The Americans grabbed the early lead, 22-7, and never got a serious challenged from the Angolan team.

Billups led the USA team with 19 points, while Rudy Gay chipped in 17 points. Team USA connected on 18 of 38 shots with Billups leading the way. Billups, the teams top point guard, shot four three point shots in the first half of the game.

The NBA led US National team employed a full court defensive pressure throughout the game. Coach Mike Krzyzewski rotated his players quickly to keep fresh legs on the floor all the time and keep the pressure on the Angolans.
