US twins born on different days and years, one in 2011 and the other in 2012

Three pairs of twins in the US were reportedly born not only on two different days but also on two different years; one was in 2011 while the other is 2012, which means each pair will be celebrating two different birthdays.

As noted at Buffalo News on Monday, January 2, 2012, a 30-year old woman named Brighid Rosputni gave birth to twin boys at the Women & Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, New York.

According to the report, Ronan Rosputni was born at 11:37 p.m (local time) on Saturday, December 31, 2011 or New Year’s Eve, while Rory arrived at 12:10 a.m. Sunday, January 1, 2012, or New Year’s Day.

“They have completely different birthdates and years, I don’t know if it’s ever happened. I’ll have to do some research. I’ll have to Google it.” Rosputni was quoted as saying.

On the other hand, CBS News reported that a pair of twins was born in Minneapolis also on different years, and six hours apart, but this time one is a boy and the other is a girl.

Based on the report, Stephanie Peterson of Minneapolis, Minnesota gave birth at the Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), first at 6:40 p.m. on New Year’s Eve to a son named Beckett, who weighed 4 pounds, 11 ounces.

After six hours, she gave birth again to a baby girl named Freya, who was delivered at 12:26 a.m. on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2012. She was 18 inches long, same as her twin brother, but weighed 5 pounds, 2.5 ounces.

Meanwhile, another pair of twin sisters was born on two different dates in Tampa, Florida, at the Tampa General Hospital by their mother Jocelyn Bear, 34; but they are only about 2 minutes apart.

Tampa Bay reported that Jenna Bear was born at 11:59 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and her twin sister Leah arrived at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, January 1, 2012; with both of them appeared to be healthy.

Jenna was said to be weighing 6 pounds, 15 ounces at birth, while Leah weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces; with their proud father Blake noting that the arrival of the twins is a great way to end 2011 and start 2012 with a wonderful blessing.
