US Open 2011: Nadal Wins against Roddick to Advance to Semifinals

In the US Open 2011, Nadal wins against Roddick to advance to the semifinals, according to sports news, September 10Rafael Nadal scored a convincing 6-2, 6-1 and 6-3 to beat Andy Roddick.

Nadal, the defending champion, and Roddick played to a hushed crowd as the last American player bids to enter the seminfinals. The 29  yr.-old  Roddick ,who  lives in Texas,  has  been  the  2003 US Open champion wining a Grand  Slam that season. He was also the Australian Open and US Open champion for the junior singles in 2000.

Reportedly,  the US Open 2011 defending champion, Rafael  Nadal from Spain, was  in his top  form, in spite of collapsing last September 4, after defeating David Nalbandian. The 25-yr. old Nadal, is considered ‘’The Greatest Player of all Time’ by tennis aficionados.

Previously ranked as no. 1, Nadal is now ranked no. 2 as of August 29, 2011 by the Association of Tennis Professionals.

Rafael Nadal will continue to defend his title in the US Open 2011 in the semifinals against no. 4, Andy Murray on Saturday, September 10, at Flushing  Meadows.
