As noted entertainment news sites on Saturday, March 3, 2012, Uggie, the dog that was featured in the said film as the constant companion of George Valentin, a character of Jean Dujardin, who won the Best Actor award, is now a commercial model.

Uggie didn’t have to sit up and beg for his role as Nintendo’s spokesdog. It’s truly our pleasure to work with a star of Uggie‘s magnitude.” Scott Moffitt, the brand’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, was quoted telling to US Weekly.

Uggie the dog, a 10-year-old Jack Russell terrier who attended the recent Oscars wearing a custom-made 18-carat gold and satin dog-boned shaped charm designed by Chopard, was seen in video apparently on his “first day of his job” as Nintendo spokesdog.

Apparently, the canine actor is shown in the Nintendo ad video “training for his new job” at the game manufacturer’s ‘office’, where he played Nintendogs + Cats on a Pearl Pink 3DS, signed a photo and later met his new boss, Super Mario.

Meanwhile, Omar von Mullers, Uggie‘s trainer also told reporters earlier that the dog will be retiring from doing movies due to a mysterious neurological disorder, which he suffered through while shooting ‘The Artist‘.
