UFC 145 Main Event Result: Rory MacDonald wins against Che Mills via TKO on Round 2

Rory MacDonald won against Che Mills on Saturday, April 21, 2012 in the co-main event at the UFC 145, which also featured Jon Jones vs Rashad Evans and was won by Jones via unanimous decision.

As featured at UFC on Saturday night, Rory MacDonald beat Che Mills via TKO on the second round at the 2:20 mark, with the British MMA fighter throwing a lot of heavy punches to the Canadian aspiring welterweight contender during the first round.

However, MacDonald, 22, who quickly recovered after a brief stealmate and later scored a takedown and easily postured up and rained down a hammerfist to open a cut and then moved from side control to the crucifix position in the full two minutes left in the round.

For the second round, Mills, 29, whose also nicknamed ‘Beautiful’, seemed to be tired, with MacDonald scoring an early takedown and continued to dominate the fight by pursuing the ground-and-pound assault that later forced the referee to stop the fight.

“He didn’t get much respect in the media because of his lack of fights in the UFC. I trained hard for this as with all my fights. I’m happy with how it went.” MacDonald was quoted as saying after the fight.

“I want to be champion one day, but I’m still very young. One thing I lack in the top of this division is experience. I need more fights, to stay regular and fight three times a year.” MacDonald added, who also won against Mike Pyle at UFC 133 via TKO in August last year.
