Josh Koscheck will face Matt Hughes on UFC 135 co-main event in Denver, Colorado on Saturday, September 24, 2011, and will be replacing Diego Sanchez.

As announced by UFC President Dana White on Tuesday via his Twitter account, Josh Koscheck will fight against the former UFC Welterweight champion, which will be held at the Pepsi Center.

Diego broke his hand, so Hughes will now fight Koscheck,” Dana White (@DanaWhite) posted on Twitter on Tuesday night.

As noted in reports, UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes was scheduled to fight Diego Sanchez, but the latter broken his hand during training, with the extend of the injury and which hand were not revealed.

Meanwhile, Koscheck immediately agreed upon when Dana White offered him as a replacement for Sanchez.

“I’m a big name fighter, so [Hughes] can take that and run with it,” Koscheck was quoted as saying in an interview with USA Today.

“I put it out there. I told UFC I’d do it, and if Matt Hughes is man enough, he’ll step up and do it,” he added.

On the other hand, Matt Hughes announced on his Twitter account that he has acknowledged the matchup.

“I said “yes” to face either Koscheck or Fitch at UFC 135. I just got off the phone with [Dana White], and it looks like Josh for the 24th,” Hughes (@matthughes9x) tweeted the same day.
