For the first round of the main event, Dos Santos edged Carwin by giving a powerful right-left combination causing Carwin to drop on the mat.

Later, Dos Santos gave again Carwin a hard left kick to the head, while Carwin gave some shots. However, in the closing seconds of round 2, Dos Santos jabbed a hard body shot to Carwin.

For the final round, Carwin wanted to take down Dos Santos. Attempting to press more actions, Carwin ate more jabs given by Dos Santos, reports said.

Referee Dean called for a time-out to ask ringside doctor to check Carwin. Doctor said that Carwin’s peripheral vision was OK.

Dos Santos got the chance to take down Carwin leaping to land a right and in the final seconds, Dos Santos made another take down.

Dos Santos won the three rounds via unanimous decision from the judges; 30-27, 30-27 and 30-26, who has now a chance to fight the current Heavy Weight champion, Cain Velasquez, probably in November or December this year.
