UAAP Season 74 Elimination ADMU vs AdU results: Ateneo Blue Eagles wins over Adamson Falcons

Manila, Philippines – The Ateneo Blue Eagles won over Adamson Falcons in the UAAP Season 74 men’s basketball elimination round on its opening day, on Sunday, July 10, 2011, 55-51.

As shown live on ABS-CBN Studio 23, the Ateneo vs Adamson match started at around 3 p.m. (local time) and was held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The first quarter of the game ended with ADMU leading four points against AdU, 16-12; and continues to lead at the end of the first half, 33 -27.

For the third quarter, Adamson Falcons tried to bring back the momentum and finished the third quarter with a single point lead against the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 44-43.

The score went tied at 51-all on the last 2 minutes of the game but Ateneo made Adamson scoreless for almost six minutes in the fourth quarter, with ADMU center Greg Slaughter controlling the game.

The Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles led by Coach Norman Black won the UAAP Season 73 title last year after beating FEU Tamaraws.

Defending champion Ateneo Blue Eagles is being noted to have previously won 28 straight games against the Adamson Falcons, and looking for it fourth straight UAAP championship title.

For the first game of the UAAP Season 74 opening day, FEU Tamaraws won against DLSU Green Archers, 74-65, with 2010 MVP RR Garcia of FEU scoring 21 points in the ballgame.
