Tropical Storm Ruby has weakened further and is now moving towards the province of Batangas, PAGASA said on its Severe Weather Bulletin Number 19 issued at 5pm today, December 8, 2014.
According to the bulletin, Ruby’s center was located at 15 km southeast of Laiya, Batangas as of 4pm today. It moves west northwest at 13kph with a maximum sustained winds of 85kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100kph.

Public storm warning signals are as follows:
Signal No. 2
- Metro Manila
- Southern Quezon
- Northern Oriental Mindoro including Lubang Island
Signal No. 1
- Rest of Quezon
- Rest of Mindoro Provinces
It is expected to make a landfall on Laiya, Batangas at 6pm today and will be associated with strong winds, storm surge and moderate to heavy rainfall.
Tropical Storm Ruby and the Northeast Monsoon will cause rough to very rough sea conditions over the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas. Fisherfolks and those using small sea craft are advised not to venture out over the said seaboards, PAGASA said.
