Typhoon Mina: PAGASA DOST Update as of 5 pm August 26

Typhoon Mina, according to the latest weather forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), was spotted at 150 km Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora as of 5pm today, August 26, 2011.

Based on reports, Typhoon Mina has a maximum winds of 195 kph near the center with gustiness of up to 230 kph and is forecast to move Northwest at 9 kph.

Northern and Central Luzon will experience occasional rains with gusty winds over Northern Luzon, PAGASA added.

Moreover, Southern Luzon, as well as parts of Visayas and Mindanao will have monsoon rains becoming widespread rains over Southern Luzon and Western Visayas.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds will prevail over the rest of the country, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The next PAGASA severe weather bulletin will be issued at 5 am tomorrow, August 27, 2011.
