Typhoon Mina August 27 Update and PAGASA Weather Forecast

Typhoon Mina has maintained its strength as it moves towards Sta. Ana, Cagayan, while heavy rains are expected in several parts of the country including Metro Manila, according to Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 5 am severe weather bulletin, PAGASA announced Typhoon Mina was estimated to be 90 km Northeast of Tuguerarao City. It has a maximum sustained wind of 195 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 230 kph.

Public Storm Signal no. 4 is hoisted over Northern Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands.

Meanwhile, Storm Signal no. 3 is raised over the provinces of Isabela, the rest of Cagayan, and Batanes Group of Islands while Storm Signal no. 2 is raised over Northern Aurora, Quirino, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Kalinga, and Apayao.

Public Storm Signal no. 1 is raised over the rest of Aurora, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Benguet, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, and Abra.

While no storm signals are raised in Metro Manila, PAGASA warned the public for heavy rains throughout the day due to southwest monsoon.

PAGASA also advised residents in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signals to be alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

Typhoon Mina is expected to be at 150 km North of Aparri, Cagayan by tomorrow morning.
