Typhoon Kabayan was spotted at 980 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes moving west Northwest at 11 kph with maximum sustained winds of 165 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 200 kph, according to the latest Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecast as of 5 p.m. today.

While Typhoon Kabayan is moving farther away from the Philippines, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 120 km South Southwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

PAGASA expects the western section of Luzon to experience monsoon rains that may result to flash floods and landslides. Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Western Visayas and the rest of Luzon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be experienced over the rest of the country.

The weather forecast of PAGASA added that the coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
