The tsunami debris in Japan after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami can take months to clear. The demolition, cleanup crews and soldiers are on the lookout for buried bodies and priceless mementos of previous residents of that area. This was reported by Japan news sites, April 23, 2011.

According to Japanese authorities, before an area is cleared, the surviving residents are informed so that they can recover whatever possessions they still have in the area. There are still thousands of people missing and the magnitude of the earthquake and tsunami is unprecedented with scores of homes and buildings ruined.

The tsunami debris in Japan will reach American shores within 3 years.

Whatever debris collected by the cleanup and demolition crews will be kept and processed so that all valuable possessions are returned to the rightful owners. The Japanese government said it will take more than a year to cleanup and sort all things out.
