Tropical Storm Ramon PAGASA Weather update October 12 5 am, to make landfall on Wednesday morning

Manila, PhilippinesTropical Storm Ramon has maintained its strength and course and is expected to make landfall over Southern Leyte on the morning of Wednesday, October 12, 2011.

As noted by Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on its official website, Bagyong Ramon is at 80 km East Northeast of Surigao City as of 4 a.m. (local time)

According to the 5 am PAGASA weather update, tropical storm Ramon has maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center with gustiness of up to 80 kph and is being estimated to move Northwest at 17 kph.

Bagyong Ramon is being forecast to be at 40 km Northeast of Roxas City on Thursday morning and at 160 km West Northwest of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro on Friday morning.

PAGASA noted that the storm is being expected to 410 km West Northwest of Subic, Zambales by Saturday and may leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) that day.

Meanwhile, PAGASA raised Public Storm Signal No. 2 in over 12 areas in Visayas and Mindanao, including Western Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte Provinces, Biliran, Camotes Island, Northern Cebu, Bohol, Surigao del Norte, Siargao Island, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Island, Camiguin Island, and Agusan Del Norte.

On the other hand, Public Storm Signal No. 1 has been hoisted in some areas in Bicol region as well as some parts of Visayas and Mindanao as listed below.
