Tropical Storm Lee: New Orleans, Mississippi, Louisiana, under State of Emergency, Storm Now in Gulf of Mexico

Tropical Storm Lee moves slowly forward as government officials, Gov. Bobby Jindal and Mayor Mitch Landrieu declared a state of emergency in Louisiana and New Orleans.

The Gulf of Mexico is reportedly experiencing the first rains of Tropical Storm Lee; as disclosed by US local sites, September 2, 2011.

Meanwhile the National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported on Saturday, September 3,2011, 4:00 AM CDT that Tropical Storm Lee is located 28.8°N 91.9°W, with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph, moving NNW at 7 mph with a minimum pressure of 995 mb.

The NHC also released this Tropical Storm Lee advisory.
