Tropical Storm Harvey strengthens, approaching Belize

Tropical storm Harvey reportedly attained its strength in the Caribbean on Friday, August 19, 2011 and is being expected to cross the Belize’s coast on Saturday afternoon or night.

As noted by National Hurricane Center on its official website, tropical storm Harvey has an utmost sustained wind of 50 mph with higher blast of air.

Before its eye or center arrives at Belize, storm Harvey was anticipated to become stronger.

It was expected that the Coast of Belize and Bay Islands would be affected by the admonition within 36 hours, likewise in southern coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula as the storm was foreseen to go by near late Friday.

An observation for the tropical storm Harvey was expected to pass in the coast of Guatemala and some parts of Honduras’ coast within 48 hours.

Moreover, tropical storm Harvey was located at 130 miles east and 9 mph heading west of Isla Roatan, Honduras as of 8p.m. ET according to reports.
