Trailer truck at C5 Ortigas crashes 2 cars, Volvo and taxi on fire (Photos)

Manila, Philippines – A 10-wheeler trailer truck reportedly hit two cars below C5 Ortigas flyover on Friday, September 09, 2011 noon time, as shown in the photos below.

According to ABS-CBN News that day, the trailer truck (PWP 953) first hit a LPG-powered taxi (TXZ 982), which carried 4 passengers and driven by a certain Peter Asocito.

As noted in the report, a Volvo car (XRZ 236) owned by a certain Peter Francisco was also hit by the truck which caused the collision of the two vehicles. Both cars went into flames immediately.

Apparently, witnesses claimed that the trailer truck came from the Ortigas flyover and is traveling fast when it hit the taxi. A DZMM radio report noted that no one was seriously hurt.

Construction workers nearby reportedly rushed to the scene for instant rescue, while a security guard was noted to have helped passengers of the taxi to escape while it was on fire.

ABS-CBN reported that Pasig City police identified the truck driver as Bernardo Anubag from Bagong Silang, Cavite, who left the scene immediately after the incident.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) which posted photos of the incident on their Twitter account said that the fire was declared out as of 12:59 pm. (local time).
