Cadel Evans, 34, wins the Tour de France 2011. He was the first Australian to become the champion of Tour de France. This was reported by UK sports sites, July 27, 2011.

Reportedly Evans expressed his desire to race for Australia in the 2012 Olympics.

He had won the Criterium du Dauphine, which was one of the vital warm-up races. As reported, he was racing for the ProTeam BMC Racing Team.

Cadel Evans was also the first Australian to win the Tour de France, and the UCI Road World Championships, which created history in the world of cycling. He was the oldest to win over-all in the general classification, as well.
