Tonia Sotiropoulou is reportedly the new James Bond Super Spy girlfriend. Sotiropoulou joins Daniel Craig as the new Bond Girl in “Skyfall,” 23rd film of James Bond, according to a news article at MI6 website on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. (More Tonia Sotiropoulou photos here)

Reports say that the 24-year-old Greek star currently lives in London. She starred in several Greek television shows but has never appeared in any major film.

MI6 revealed that Sotiropoulou will be filming for five days in Istanbul, Turkey starting April 22. She will be doing two or three scenes in the said location.

According to MI6, Sotiropoulou confirmed on Facebook that she is joining “Skyfall.” Below is the Facebook status update of Sotiropoulou that confirms her inclusion in the new James Bond film.

Sotiropoulou reportedly auditioned to play as Bond Girl Severine, however, the role was given to French star Berenice Marlohe.

Skyfall” is a production of Sony Pictures, and being directed by Sam Mendes. The film started production in October 2011 and scenes were being taken from several locations around the world that include Turkey, Scotland, England and Shanghai, China. Reports say that “Skyfall” will be shown in UK theaters on October 26 and in the US on November 9. The “Skyfall” showing coincides with the 50th anniversary of the first James Bond movie, “Dr. No,” released in 1962 and starred by Sean Connery.
