Katie Holmes will get child support from Tom Cruise, after their divorce was finalized early this week; and will receive nothing else from her ex-husband. Cruise is reportedly worth $750 million and led Forbes’ Hollywood’s highest paid actor list, over the past 12 months, released last June.

According to TMZ on Friday, August 24, 2012, sources familiar with documents filed with the court told them that a judge ordered Tom Cruise to provide financial support to Suri, 6, his daughter and only child with Katie Holmes; but spousal support is not included, which was not asked by Katie.

As noted in the report, their divorce settlement papers said that Katie will receive child support from Tom, which is consistent with their prenuptial agreement. The amount is $400,000 a year ($33,333.33 a month), for 12 years until Suri turns 18, to be paid via electronic transfer.

In addition, the 50-year old “Mission Impossibleā€”actor will pay for Suri‘s expenses, which includes medical, dental, insurance, education, college, and extracurricular costs; and that both parties agreed that she will not be attending a “residential school” from now through her high school years, Scientology or otherwise.

Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise last June 28 and cited “irreconcilable differences” and asked for sole custody over Suri; with later reports are saying that she does not want their daughter to be deeply involved with Scientology, Tom‘s religion. They were married on November 18, 2006 in Italy.

Their divorce was finalized last Monday, August 20, after a New York judge signed off on the final judgment, with both of their lawyers stared to work together for the settlement right after the divorce was filed, and was finished after nearly two weeks only.
