Katie Holmes is reportedly concern with Suri, her 6-year old daughter with Tom Cruise, which is allegedly the main reason why the couple split, after Katie filed for divorce last Thursday and asking for sole child custody.

Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy to work this out.” Tom Cruise‘ rep was earlier quoted at People. Cruise, 49, and Holmes, 33, were married on November 18, 2006 in Italy reportedly via a Scientology wedding ceremony.

As noted at TMZ on Friday, June 29, 2012, sources connected with the couple told them that Katie Holmes has never been fully committed to Scientology, and that she fears Tom will be dragging Suri deep into the church, especially now that she is at the age where Scientology is becoming a part of her life.

According to the report, Katie cited “irreconcilable differences” for the reason of their divorce and is asking for a “suitable amount” of child support, as well as division of property between them, but specifically wants a sole child custody because she does not want Tom to take full control on decisions related to his religion.

Apparently, the ‘Rock of Ages’ actor “did not see this coming” and that he and Katie were even photographed walking around hand-in-hand in Reykjavik, Iceland last June 16, where Tom is busy for his upcoming film ‘Oblivion’. Holmes was recently spotted in New York City with Suri and still wearing her wedding ring.
