Tiger Woods won the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Sunday, March 25, 2012, according to a report at PGA.com. It was Woods‘ seventh victory at Bay Hill tournament in Orlando, Florida.

Woods entered the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational with a one-stroke lead. He captured his first PGA Tour victory, since the 2009 BMW Championship, by finishing the final round with a 2-under 70 and a five-stroke lead over Graeme McDowell.

After putting the final hole, Woods reportedly walked off the green while waving his cap to a jubilant crowd. The PGA Tour‘s former number one golfer said that “It does feel good. It feels really good. It’s been a lot of hard work.”

With the victory, Woods regained a place in the top 10 by placing sixth in the world golf rankings. The Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill is Woods‘ 72nd PGA Tour win.

Arnold Palmer, however, was unable to witness Woods‘ victory as he suffered from high blood pressure during the final round. He was taken to the hospital and would be kept overnight according to Alaistair Johnston, vice chairman at IMG and Palmer‘s business manager.
