Tiger Woods wins the 2011 Chevron World Challenge on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Sherwood in Thousand Oaks, California. The Chevron victory was Woods‘ first golf tournament win after two years and 26 tournaments. Woods captured his 83rd win worldwide after putting in a six-foot birdie. He last won a golf tournament during the Australian Masters on Nov. 15, 2009, according to reports by several international news sites on Monday, December 5, 2011.

It was Woods‘ fifth Chevron World Challenge victory. He finished the tournament with a 10-under 278 after getting birdies in the last two holes.

Chevron World Challenge is a golf tournament hosted by Woods for his foundation. After the victory, Woods donated the $1.2 million prize to his foundation.

WoodsChevron win moved him up in the world golf rankings from no. 52 to no. 21. His victory is expected to boost him in 2012. He will start his 2012 campaign at the end of January in a tournament in Abu Dhabi.
