As published on Sporting Life on Monday, Tiger Woods spat on the green apparently a manifestation that he was frustrated with his bad game at the Dubai Desert Classic.

Woods, now ranked as the world’s no. 3 golfer, was on the 12th green of his final game when he spat on the green, after missing a par putt, and will be fined with an undisclosed amount.

“You look at his work ethics and he is a credit to the game and an inspiration to all of those who are trying to become professional golfers.” Sky Sports commentator Ewen Murray was quoted as saying, as he saw the disgusting scene.

“But there are some parts of him that are just arrogant and petulant. Somebody now has to come behind him and maybe putt over his spit. It does not get much lower than that.” Murray added, who describes the spitting incident as ‘one of the ugliest things you will ever see on a golf course’.

Meanwhile, tournament director Mike Stewart was reported to have reviewed the incident and believed that Tiger Woods have violated the code of conduct of the golf tour.

“Consequently Tiger Woods will be fined,” according to a statement from the European Tour on Monday, as quoted at SportingLife.com, in which the usual fine was said to be from £250 to £10,000.

On that Dubai event, Tiger Woods slumped to 20th spot with a closing 75, apparently his lowest score in a regular European Tour event during his entire professional career; and ended his chance to win his first trophy in almost 15 months.
