Tiger Woods’ photo has been removed from ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters’ video game cover on its 2011 version, which will be released on March.

According to Telegraph on Friday, Electronic Arts (EA) has decided to remove the photo of Tiger Woods from the cover of the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 video game, which will be released on PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 30 this coming March.

As shown in the photo below, Tiger Woods’ photo was replaced by the iconic yellow flag at Augusta golf course, where ‘The Masters’ is being played annually.

However, Tiger Woods will be remain as a playable character in the video and his face will still be seen at the Collector’s Edition of PlayStation, an item with more features and more expensive.

On the other hand, EA Sports President Peter Moore told the news that the company remains standing by the world’s number two golfer.

“If the insinuation is it’s a reflection of EA Sports backing away from its relationship that goes back literally 13 years with Tiger, that’s not the case whatsoever.” Mr. Moore said.

He insisted that gamers should not ‘give color’ to the company’s decision to exclude Tiger Woods on the cover of the regular PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 30 versions of the video game.

Tiger Woods turned 35 last December 30, was also reported to have lost of some of his advertisers including Gillette.

Nevertheless, he was still the still golf’s biggest earner of 2010 according to Golf Digest.
