A video by Film maker George Clarke was uploaded at You Tube on October 19, and now starting to go viral as it seems to be timely with Halloween.

As Clarke explains, there seem to be a time traveler with a cell phone in the 1928 Charlie Chaplin movie, The Circus.

Apparently, after taking a closer look to an individual who seem to be like a women, she looks like holding a cell phone on her left hand and appears to be like talking to someone over her phone.

On one part of the scene, the woman somehow faced the camera which made it clearer that she is really holding a dark object while talking.

Obviously, there was no cell phone yet during those times and George Clarke is asking for opinions and theories behind the supposed weird scene.

The You Tube video, entitled Chaplin Time Traveler, which has more than 3.1 million views and 24,000 comments as of this writing, keeps on attracting funny comments as well as valuable theories.

At one point, a commenter said it might be a hearing aid that the woman is holding since the early hearing aids were invented before 1928, but others say it was unlikely since only hand-held hearing aids were available that time.

Another commenter pointed out that the black object the woman is holding might be cigarette case or a purse, and she is just talking to her self.

Meanwhile, another commenter thinks that the woman is just covering her face to hide from the camera or to cover her face from the sun.

On the other hand, someone said that assuming that the woman is a time traveler with a cell phone, there is now way she can connect with another person since it will need a cell station.

Nevertheless, others say it is a hoax and someone or Clarke himself may have done it on purpose to get attention from You Tube viewers.

Below is the controversial video of a 1928 Charlie Chaplin movie with a woman who seems to be using a cell phone, and be the next one to judge.
