As featured at ABS-CBN Channel 2 on Sunday night, Modesto Taran was voted out during the 4th X Factor Philippines elimination night, and Takeoff landed on the Bottom 2, where Angeline Quinto was the guest artist and sang along with the Top 9 finalists.

Later on the show, Mang Modesto, and the group Takeoff had a showdown, with Modesto, the oldest finalist at the age of 55, singing first; and was followed by Takeoff, who also landed in the Bottom 2 during the 2nd elimination night, two weeks ago.

Yesterday, Saturday, the X Factor Philippines Top 9 finalists performed hits from music artists that had passed away, including Elvis Presley, Aaliyah, Selena, Amy Winehouse, and Whitney Houston, among others, with the four judges-mentors giving their opinions after each performance.

Among those who received praises that night includes the group Daddy’s Home, who landed in the Bottom 2 last week, after they rendered their version of Whitney Houston‘s “All At Once” and Ms. Pilita Corrales called the performance as “singing with the heart.”

When it was time for the four judges to vote this Sunday, Gary Valenciano and Charice Pempengco picked Mang Modesto to be the eliminated one. He was also chosen by Ms. Pilita Corrales, despite being his mentor; which means that Martin Nievera need not to vote anymore since vote by majority is being followed.

Below is the list of the remaining X Factor Philippines Top 8 finalists, as announced by show host KC Concepcion, who emphasized the names she called were in no particular order, and the last one landed in Bottom 2; and will continue to the live competition next week.

1. Allen Jane Sta. Maria
2. Daddy’s Home
3. Joan Da
4. Jeric Medina
5. Gabriel Maturan
6. KZ Tandingan
7. Kedebon Colim
8. Takeoff
