Manila, Philippines – The X Factor Philippines Top 12 contestants performed live on Saturday, August 4, 2012, as they continue to compete against each other, wherein one of them will eventually win the country’s first X Factor title and will bring home the P4-million grand prize including a recording contract.

As featured live at ABS-CBN Channel 2 on Saturday night, the X Factor Philippines Top 12 finalists had their first live performance night at the Pagcor Grand Theater in Paranaque City, with the ‘Songs from Movies’ theme, a week after it was announced that eight contestants have been eliminated.

During the show, host KC Concepcion introduced the contestants one by one as the four judge-mentors gave their opinions after each performance, where the fans are set to vote via text and online for their favorite finalist right after the show until tomorrow (Sunday night) before the live elimination night.

For the performances, groups Takeoff and Daddy’s Home, who performed ‘Jailhouse Rock’ and ‘Till My Heartaches End’, respectively, were among those who received good comments from the four judges. Gabriel Maturan, Jerrianne Mae Templo, and Kedebon Colim were also praised.

However, KZ Tandingan, who is among the early favorites to win the title, Ms. Pilita Corrales said that “The Show” seemed to be not the right song for her. But Charice, who chose the song, said she wanted to get away with the usual high-pitch songs and that she believes the song was right for her style of singing.

On the other hand, the Lucky Girls, the group that consists of 6 girls which were earlier chosen from the other solo girls, received a standing ovation from the audience. Apparently, Gary V announced that the group has now a new name, AKA Jam, which he said came from the initials of their first names.
