“The Hunger Games” Soundtrack Tops Billboard Album Chart

The Hunger Games” soundtrack tops the Billboard Top 200 Album chart, while the movie counterpart dominated the week with its $155 million net in the Box Office, as revealed by international entertainment news, March 28, 2012.

In the first week, the soundtrack “The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond,” sold over 175,000.

The songs were contributed by Taylor Swift, the Decemberists, and the Arcade Fire, among the artists in the soundtrack.

Further reports stated that Billboard.com recognizes the “The Hunger Games” soundtrack as.

“The first film soundtrack to top the list in three years, since Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” in 2009.
